Hi Guys,An idea I've had for damping thinner horns in a more or less aesthetically pleasing manner is to house the horn in a Sonotube rigid cardboard cylindrical concrete former, and then apply the desired damping material inside the Sonotube.&n...

Hi
With the Le Cléac'h horn spreadsheet you can design allmost any kind of horn you want. Short and wide, or long and narrow, or anything in between.
cheers ;)...

Hi Romy,Got my new Le Cleach tractrix horns (320hz) for the Vitavox S2's. I'm x-ing over at 600hz with 2nd order 12db/Octave which I know is barbaric for you but it is all I have for the moment. With the new horns the S2s are puttin...

Here are a couple of measurements of S2's (not taken at the show). Both are taken at the listening chair, ear position in my system. This one is on a 2nd order passive, spec'd to cross at 1.25KHz.(This was Coco's S2 with new surrounds on a Le Cleach 55...

Yes, anything from Raveneau for $70 is a bargain. In addition, his 09s are spectacular - unlike most others - meaning that they're underpriced due to the vintage's bad reputation. Furthermore, anyone tasting the close-knit, incredibly intense purity ...

Jessie, we keep meeting at the same intersection. Like I said before, I agree that direct radiators suck, for all the reasons you cited. But if what you say about horns is strictly and completely true, then does it not follow in spades at ever lower...

Hm, the Injection channel via Lecleach? The MF via Lecleach? I wonder why people then are complaining about the vertical limitations. Anyhow, closer to the point.

Coops, I less care about the attacks on me, I know that I am a pH-indicator of Moronity among audio freaks. So, if some specific idiots out there are not happy about me then… it is good for me. The higher we climb in mountains the stronger wind and l...

Hi Romy
Yes, I think the toughts behind the Le Cléac'h flare is interesting.
I don't use them myself, however. And I don't use tractrix either.
But I do use a digital crossover.
cheers ;)

The whole room (L-shaped) is larger as you all noticed, but as Roman saw in my Blog , the listening space is smaller - i.e. about 6,5 x 4,5 meters with low 2,70 ceiling - and is a perennial work in progress... yes, the Stereo Lab 1000 hz is a true wa...

Oh, it'll come round for sure - 4-5 years should do it. As for the Bordeaux vs. Burgundy thing, the thing to take on board is that it's purely to do with producers; a villages wine from a great producer such as the ones I just mentioned will frequent...

Thank You
I'll experiment with the PSU a little. The transformes have only 1 Ohm DCR
and total supply impedance for a channel would be ~ 45 Ohm (with two chokes in series) Imput choke looks like can take 1 A current! All Iron is mil quality and p...

Jessie,
When I spoke that I would go most likely for exponential I did not mean the Exponential vs. Hyperbolic but rather that it would not be a Tractrix. I have no specific preferences for Exponential, Hyperbolic or any other long profiles. A commo...

Yep, thanks.
I still do not know why you feel that I will not exploit the “ringy dustcaps” on the Malaysian bass drivers; in fact I never gave up on this idea. I preliminary concluded that my MF channel might not go lower then 700Hz but I did not sa...

Hi Romy,
May i ask if you have ever played with the Le Cleach flares and how you find them?
They were created to reduce reflections directly back into the horn. Only problem is they are very large because of this....

Paul, l I have written about it somewhere: the passive speaker-level crossovers on bass channels are no good. Marko has 250Hz that with 3rd order would be around 10mH and 2mH. With air core then would be very large coils with huge amount of DCR – ver...

Thanks very much for the offer to help.
